Glia forming a barrier around dividing cells

"The green is GFAP, the red is EdU (a newer version of BrdU. I prefer EdU because it does not require the harsh acid denaturation step of BrdU so the tissue remains more intact after processing). The cells are dissociated hippocampal cells taken from an E18 pup, then grown for 2 weeks in culture and then fixed with 2% PFA (standard methods, nothing fancy here). The EdU label was added 7 days after plating out the cells. The microscope used was an inverted Zeiss axioscope (no confocal)."
